Basic Lotion Bar Recipe

This is a basic lotion bar recipe that many home-crafters have been using for years.  Makes 10 ounces (283.5 grams).  Use lotion bar tubes.

Ingredients:

• 2 ounces (56.7 grams) Shea Butter
• 2 ounces (56.7 grams) Cocoa Butter
• 4 ounces (113.4 grams) Beeswax
• 2 ounces (56.7 grams) Oil (your choice)
• 1 teaspoon (4.9 ml) Fragrance Oil or Essential Oil

 Recipe Directions:

1.  In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butters slowly.  Just before the butters are completely molted, remove from heat and stir until they finish melting.
2. Melt the beeswax in the microwave.  When melted, add to the molted butters.  Add the oil and scent.
3. Stir well and pour into sterile lotion bar tubes.  Let sit on the counter to cool for several hours.  When cool, put the caps on, and they’re ready.
