Q: My neighbor says I shouldn't let my boys use andy scented soaps because it could cause them to

grow breasts! Is this true?

A:  Although it's rare, our research confirms that repeated use of toiletries containing lavender oil and/or tea tree oil can mimic the effects of estrogen in prepubescent boys, which can prompt breast tissue growth.
