Recycled Tin Can Candle

This is a great craft for kids to do for a Christmas or Birthday present for someone! Help the environment by recycling an empty tin can and turning it into a candle. NOTE–Kids should always be supervised by an adult when making candles.
Directions:
- Wash out the empty tin can and let it dry.
- Adhere a Candle Dot to the center of the tin can.
- Take your Wick and firmly push the wick onto the Candle Dot. (For our 3″ diameter can, we used the HTP-104 Wick.)
- Gently place the Wick through the Wick Holder‘s hole and center the Wick in the tin can.
- Using the Container Wax of your choice and your preferred melting method, melt enough wax to fill the tin can. (Our can used approximately 10 ounces of Nature Wax C-3.)
- Color and scent the wax. (We used a yellow dye and Banana Nut Bread Fragrance Oil.)
- Carefully pour the wax into the tin can.
- Allow the wax to harden over night.
- Decorate the tin can to add flair!

Decorating Ideas:
- Cover the tin can in one fabric or pieces of different fabrics.
- Wrap the can in used wrapping paper.
- Decoupage the can.
- Place a unique label on the front of the tin can.
- Glue little foam decorations around the can.
- The top picture used our Pillar Candle Label in the Heritage Collection.
- The middle picture used ribbon tied in a bow.
- The bottom picture used a textured paper towel.
