Sell Your House with Candles

It’s long been known that candles can help sell homes.  The ever popular Hot Apple Pie Candles lent hopeful buyers the feeling of being at home with a hot apple pie cooking in the oven.  It is a scent mind game that can potentially lead to your home selling.

The times have changed over the years, however.  You don’t always have to have an apple pie candle burning in the kitchen.  The variety of fragrances available and varied interests of home buyers has opened the door for new scents to be possible deal makers.  Fragrances that exhibit vanillas, cookies, kitchen spices, citruses, or fresh and clean laundry are all wonderful ideas to keep around the home.

Sometimes our lives can lead to foul odors floating in the air.  From stinky gym shorts to pet smells, our houses can have scents in the air that could cause a house deal to go sour.  Potential buyers don’t want to smell your week’s dirty laundry or the fish your husband caught the day before.  They want to be enveloped in fresh and clean scents that give them peace of mind.  Any images of dirt can cause them to painfully remember all of the times their house has been a dirty disaster.  Who wants to remember such a thing?

If you clean your house before a showing, why not “clean” the air with a scent.  You want the people looking at the house to feel like you have the perfect life living there.  If they feel you have the perfect life, they’ll, in turn, think that they can have the perfect life living in your house, too!  Scents invoke feelings, memories, and images in a person.  A possible buyer may not like cookies due to a diet, taste, etcetera, but the scent of a cookie may cause them to envision their loving grandma baking in the kitchen on a warm spring morning.  It’s moments such as that that help scented candles lend a hand in selling your home.
