SHUTDOWN OF MINNESOTA NON-ESSENTIAL GOVERNMENT OFFICES CAUSING DELAYS

Service Update

July 6, 2011

When government offices deemed “non-essential” by the state of Minnesota were shut down on July 5, all UPS pickup and delivery services were suspended to these offices. Both pickups and deliveries to offices deemed “essential” by the state of Minnesota are not affected.

Pickup and delivery services will resume once offices reopen. The UPS package guarantee does not apply when transportation networks are disrupted.

Yesterday, July 11, 2011, a nasty storm ripped through the Northern Illinois area and caused chaos.  It knocked out the power, phones, internet, and cell phones.  It was the worst storm in ComEd history!  Since we had no forms of communication and no power to run our offices and warehouse, Nu-Scents Wholesale was closed yesterday.

Today, we only had phones for the first part of the day.  Our IT manager just got our computers up and running.  We are now in the process of playing catch up with the orders, emails, phone calls, messages, and customer service.

Your patience and understanding during this tumultuous time is immensely appreciated right now.  We are doing our best to work as quickly and efficiently as possible to tend to your candle, soap, bath, and body supply needs.  When Mother Nature calls, you have deal and make the best of it!  And that is what we are doing.

We live in a wonderful country that offers us many glorious freedoms.  Please take the time to reflect on all that our ancestors have done for us and all that you can do for posterity.

We had blogged earlier about the Canadian Union of Postal Workers’ strike.  We are currently happy to say that it has been resolved!  Nu-Scents is, once again, able to ship packages to Canada.

We apologize for any inconveniences it may have caused.  We are thrilled to be able to continue to serve our customers to the north.

We will be closed on Monday, July 4th in observation of Independence Day.

For the weekend, our office and warehouse will be closed from 4:30pm CST Thursday, June 30, 2011 through Monday, July 4, 2011.  Our office and warehouse will reopen on Tuesday, July 5, 2011.

During this time, you may continue to place orders online, but no orders will be shipped.  When the office and warehouse reopen on July 5th, all orders will be processed in the order in which they were received.

Spring is in the air and the earth is coming alive with new beginnings!

At Nu-Scents, our move couldn’t have happened at a better time!  We are feeling the rush of spring–nature waking up from its hibernation, warm air bringing the world to life, and a new company headquarters waiting to come to light.

With our leap to a new location, our minds are whirling with new ideas.  It has given us a breath of fresh air and allowed us to open our eyes and ponder how we can make Nu-Scents Wholesale a better company.  We have brought in some new products, discontinued some old ones, and have implemented means for our operations to run more smoothly.  Our wheels are constantly turning to come up with new and innovative notions.

We are fully moved in and functioning at our new location at 11201 Commercial Street in Richmond, Illinois.  This has been an exciting time for us–new warehouse, new offices, new products, new ideas!  Even though the saw dust and building materials abound (as we are still putting the final touches on the offices), we are happily settling into our new home.  Nu-Scents remains dedicated to working hard to provide our customers with the best quality candle, soap, bath, and body supplies at the best value, and our new facility will only enhance that philosophy!

Next Monday, April 11, 2011, we will be fully moved in and functioning in our new building.  It is located just across the border in Richmond, Illinois only a half mile from where we used to be.  Our new address is:

Please update your records with this new address.  As of 4/11/11, we will no longer be located in Genoa City, Wisconsin.  Another company will be occupying the space, therefore, please direct all correspondence to the mailing address above.
