Cotton Wicks
BURN RATE: Is the amount of wax consumed per hour. The higher the burn rate number, the hotter the flame.
Q: What do the three sents of numbers on the pre-tabbed wicks mean?
A: The firest number is the thickness of the wick. The bigger this number, the thicker the wick. The second number is coded for the speed of which the string (all wicks start out with very thin string) goes thru the wicking machine gears. The faster it goes thru the machine the tighter the wick is wicked, which should slow the wick from burning too fast. The last number is a code for the temperature of the wax as the string (wick) goes thru the various gears. This temperature varies according to the previous numbers.
All of our wicks comply with CPSC CFR 1500.17(a)(13)
Refer to the candle wick chart for a guideline for the proper wick size to be used in your size container. Wicking size is determined by the DIAMETER (the measurement across the widest part) of the container.
